Awwww... can that sweet boy come be my pretend Lou and live at my house? :-) (She says, as she removes everything from the coffee table to get it out of doggie reach.)

Nasty cold in the summer !!! My youngest has horrible allergies this time of year, it is hard to be sick this time of year.

I second the emergen-C, my favorite flavor is the Lite. Do you have Trader Joe's neaby ? They have the best price, ~$8.99 for a box.
Do you have the little scissors that are in a circle, basially, a little cutting instrument ? Those are good for flying.

Hey Staci...actually Emergen-C'c Vitamin C drink would be better for your cold then the immune defense...
Take Zinc (I get the Halls Zinc lozenges) and pop an Echinacea...that will keep your covered....but the Vitamin C drink will kick the cold's butt!!!
Feel better soon!!!

Knitting needles are just fine on planes. You'll get 'em through security no problem at all. You're technically allowed to take scissors now too. (I think they have to be shorter than 4 inches.) I'm with Amy - hit the Airborne. That stuff is genius.

I will have to double-check with the airlines again before I leave (because the rules are always changing), but knitting needles are okay. I have heard from other knitters that you're unlikely to get stopped by security if you actually have knitting on the needles, and aren't just carrying yarn and empty needles. I have a LOOOOONG flight straight from Houston to Anchorage, so I reallyreallyreallyreally hope I can knit.

Awww, poor little lost puppy! I worry about how June would handle it if she ever got lost. She's so clingy...she doesn't like to eat if one of us isn't home. (Well, she'll eat her chicken and duck jerky whenever. But dog food requires complete security.) And when she sees people she loves (family and a few close friends) she whines and talks and rolls over and gets as close as possible and is just really, really happy to see you. If you've been gone for a few hours she neeeeds you to adore her for a little while. I worry about if she got lost...She's scared of off-leash dogs, bigger dogs, strangers, loud noises, engines, some smaller dogs... I'm sure she's stronger than I think, but it's so hard to think of her not knowing where she was and if I was coming to get her. Which is why she wears a collar just to go into our privacy fenced back yard. Just in case of anything. I work with her pretty often on coming when she's called, or coming to me under certian situations without me calling her, etc.

Hm. I think I've gone from, "Gosh, I hope my dog doesn't get lost," to some sort of frightening. Yikes.

Back to my original train of thought...I hope his family is looking for him and finds him soon!

And the post above mine raises an interesting point (no pun intended), can you bring knitting needles onto planes?

I'm delurking to say that I hope you get better before you go on your trip. Being on a plane when you're stuffed up is yucky!

Also, I've been wondering...are you allowed to bring your knitting needles with you on the plane? Or do they qualify as "weapons"?

That's funny-poor little guy-I don't have any cold voodoo, but I can say, get pregnant or become 7 again and you'll feel better in 4 HOURS!!
