Woke Up This Morning, Got Yourself A Gun

I’m feeling better! Aside from an annoying cough, I’m back to normal. But here it is Monday, and I need to do what I didn’t do on Friday…I need to change topics quickly.

The title to this post is The Sopranos theme song. Don’t worry, I won’t give anything away if you haven’t seen it yet.

tonysoprano.JPG Did you see the Television Event of the Year…the final episode of The Sopranos? We stopped everything for one hour last night and devoted ourselves to HBO.

Perfect ending. Chris and I wanted different things to happen, and we’re both very satisfied.

Goodbye, Sopranos!

eastenders2.JPG The EastEnders Baby Sweater is finished…and lo and behold! I didn’t put a hood on it. I always put hoods on baby sweaters.

Instead, we got a hat with pigtails.

ike1.JPG Don’t worry. He loves it.

unwound.JPG Janet had a contest on her blog, and I won this laceweight Malabrigo. Yay!
wound.JPG Janet said, “Why don’t you make this Orchid Lace Scarf?”

I said, “Janet, you have good ideas”.

detail.JPG It’s like knitting a little bit of wool around wisps of air. It is so light and pretty.

In fact, if the ceiling fan is on while I’m knitting, it actually blows in the breeze.

  1. We gave up our HBO so I couldn’t watch the Sopranos finale, but I’m glad that you enjoyed the ending. I love the pigtail hat, it goes very well with the sweater! The Orchid Lace Scarf is GORGEOUS in the Malabrigo. I’m jealous. I love it when Max covers his face with his paws and peeks at me with exasperated eyes! Too cute!

  2. Omigosh – the EastEnders set is wonderful! Ingenious little placket (for baby’s head to get through?)

And the Orchid Lace Scarf is breathtaking. I love the way the lace is set off with the generous bits of stockinette — perfect for showing off the subtle variegation in the Malabrigo. GORGEOUS!

  3. I LOVE Basenji sign language!!! It is so cute!! Do your guys walk up to each other and just place a paw on the other’s forehead? Bella does that to Keiki all the time…I wonder what it means??!!

  4. I don’t think you should give the hat away. Ike will be sad. He loves it you can tell. The scarf is soo beautiful!! I don’t have HBO cause it costs about 100.00 to have it. Glad you enjoyed it–Kiss the munkey with the ponytails!!

  5. You know, I wish I had blocked the EastEnders sweater before I photographed it (I don’t know why I didn’t). The neckline is puckering in the photo, and it won’t once it’s blocked. Oh, well…

  6. Found your site from Janet’s. Great baby sweater, although I think your dog would like to keep the hat. Your orchid scarf is coming along beautifully! I really like Anne’s patterns.

  7. That laceweight is *beautiful* and I love your description of it–really makes me want to get ahold of some! Never mind that I’m a beginner and have never tried making anything lacy before…:-D

  8. I thought that was the international sign for “i just had a really great treat and i want to get all the goodness off my face”

  9. Great color on the laceweight ( as if I know what it is, but is really lovely) !

I was happy with the Soprano’s end, I was afraid and jittery for the last 10 minutes….

  10. two questions-
1- where can i get the pattern for the eastenders hat that i can make for my dog?

2- what kind of dogs are these? we just adopted a dog and can’t figure out what he is…after stumbling upon your website, the black and white dog looks a lot like our Milo.

    great site.
