Thank You

Thanks to everyone – whether you have left me a comment, sent me an email, or just sent good thoughts this way. I felt and smiled at every kind communication you sent. They mean a lot to me.

I am a happy person. I’m a strong person. I’m not worried about my situation, because I’m always okay. Better than okay!

I have two quotes I’d like to share, both by the same brilliant man:

Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though sometimes it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and grieves which we endure help us in our marching onward.
Henry Ford

If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.

This is what I see when the doggie treat jar comes out.

We can all learn a lesson from these guys about expecting good things to come to us.

  1. Good things come to those who gang up on ya and stare! 😉

And of course you’ll be okay! But I hope you *feel* okay. That’s the tough part. More hugs headed your way from LA, and, hey, there’s no traffic today!

  2. I hope things are good and that you stay happy.

Where they aware you were getting the treats or did they just hear the jar and come running?

  3. That looks like my house when they hear the clasp on the treat jar open!! The only difference…the cat is there sitting too! We have to break a piece off for Chuck-A-Puck so that he has a treat too…..BUT he has to sit first…and he does!!!
    I love doggie pics!!!

  4. I hope everything is ok. I see all the pictures of Texas under water, and I worry for all my blog friends from that area.

  5. Glad to see your back. I hope everything is well again. I read your post almost daily. I found you through Breigh.com I love reading about your doggies and your knitting. Keep up the good work and stay strong.

  6. They are so adorable and expectant-looking. 🙂

Thank you for the update and the excellent quotes.

    You’re a survivor and an overcomer. 😀

  7. I’ve kept you in my thoughts…just haven’t known what to say. I’ve been counting on your doggies to know what you need. 🙂 I’m glad seeing the Simpsons version of yourself brightened your day. 🙂

  8. I’m sure that one day you can look back on this situation and go, wow, I am proud of how I handled that, and it really helped me be at this better place where I am today!

Pets always help me when I feel sad.. it’s good that all you need to do is bring out the treat jar and you’re surrounded by loyal, loving furbabies 😀

As my friend would say, ‘stupid everything!’

  9. Yes we can learn a lesson from our dogs. They always look on the bright side and are always a bright spot in our days. My two dogs make me laugh and smile EVERY day despite any other troubles or worries. Take care and cuddle doggies–it soothes the soul for every situation.

  10. Continuing to send happy thoughts. 🙂

    Thanks for keeping us updated.

  11. So, does Abe always hang out in the corner reluctantly when the treat jar comes out or was he just a late comer to the party? If I took a picture like that it would just have Max’s nose in the frame b/c he’d be standing on his hind legs dancing.

  12. Amusing that I’m posting right after Cassie, because I thought the same thing about Abe. Looks like he knows he had better let the big dogs in first!

Sending you positive mojo and all that good stuff.

  13. Wow–they sure have that ‘begging face’ down pat! 🙂

Dogs are wonderful for keeping your spirits up, regardless of the situation. Hope things start looking up for you soon!

  14. Have been wondering about you–don’t know what to say–hope you’re doing better.

What to say to a virtual stranger? Haha.

Staci, good thoughts are coming from Austin to you!

Take Care & take your time–we’ll be waiting! 🙂

  15. Staci,

One thing is for sure, those babies love you. And it’s amazing that they sense that we are going through tough times. They may hear the cookie jar open, but they know that they are coming from “Momma” with love. And they return that love, unconditionally.

I have nothing but good thoughts for you during this time in your life. Take time for you to get through this period. But know this much; your ever faithful readers, like me, will be waiting patiently. And that during this time, we will be thinking only good thoughts for you.

    ((((huggs))))

  16. I hope that you are ok, whatever came your way has to be a hard hit, I hope that “Time heals all” is applicable, at the very least.

if you ever need one (your pal in CA)

  17. From Chloe (Beth’s daughter):
I hope that things get better, you are very special.
    Hug your dogsfor me!

  18. Staci, Just thinking about you when I came across this link to a song by Rob Thomas that someone sent me when I was dealing with some bumps in the road. It made me see things in a new light. Go listen to it and remember life is full of “twists & turns of fate.” Donna

  19. Dude, sorry to hear about your troubles. I’ve got like five thousand inspirational lyrics and quotes for you so I guess I’ll start texting you right now… Hope you have a text package… 😉

  20. Just wanted to say Hi and to let you know I’m sending good thoughts, best wishes and prayers to you. I know all about life happening way faster than it should…….and it’s frustrating when dealing with things that are out of our control. Just remember you are an amazing woman and hopefully these things will work themselves out very soon!

Please take care of youself…. and give your doggies a great big hug from us. It always helps a lot for me !

  21. I just wanted to let you know I’m thinking of you. I thought I would pass along one of my favorite quotes:

    Laughter is the sun
    that drives winter
    from the human face.

    – Victor Hugo

I hope there is more sun in your life these days.

  22. Hi, Staci !! I have been enjoying you forever, and not thanking you often enough. You are WAY too cool not to come out on top, and I’m sending you good thoughts & prayers. Looking forward to your triumphant return, hugs to the adorable doggies. BTW–love the Alaska haircut, think it looks like Posh Spice !! If there’s anything I can do…… and I bet many others feel the smae way. Lynda in Erie, with Sunny, Noah, and Lilly the cat

  23. Love the redesign! (Haven’t visited in awhile, shame on me!)

Hang in there and don’t forget that yucky situations are temporary.

Oh, and in case of emergency, there’s not much that cupcakes can’t fix.

  24. I have no idea what life has thrown your way. But remember this. If you can live with several Basenjis, you can do ANYTHING! Basenjis have prepared you for dealing with major natural disasters, serious diseases, and in-laws! I do miss your posts–I look forward to reading them. But I can wait for awhile until you feel like writing again. Good things are worth waiting for.
