Gracing Us with Her Presence

It was a long, productive night.

Not so much for me, but certainly for my sister and her husband.

Molly Renee finally decided to stop torturing her mother, and take her first step towards autonomy.

Here she is, with her proud big brother. Timmy suddenly looks much older to me, now that he’s not the baby anymore.

She’s 6.9 pounds and a yet undetermined length. (My mom and I have a bet going on this…I say 19.5 inches. Mom’s gonna owe me a cheeseburger.)

Mother and baby are both fine, and doing well.

Pleasure to see ya, Molly Renee!

  1. Oh My Gosh! How late was she?? So happy to see a healthy little girl. I would think she’d weigh more-6.9 is certainly respectable, but she was incubating a long time in there! Great news!

  2. What a beautiful girl! I see a resemblance to big brother. Please pass my congratulations on to them. I’ve been lucky enough to have gotten to share in a newborn this past week–they are so yummy to hold and look at. I hope you get to see Molly in person soon!

  3. Congratulations Auntie Staci!! She’s a beautiful baby and what a handsome big brother. Nieces are so much fun!! I have a one year old niece and I am buying her purses!! She loves them!! Of course she’s always got a hot wheel car in them – there’s plenty to choose from when you have three big brothers!

🙂 Welcome to the world Molly Renee!!

  4. Congratulations, Aunt Staci!
And finally! I was getting worried, since you wrote about her being 10 days overdue on August 13. So that makes her, what, like more than 3 weeks overdue? Oh, my …
There is definitely a resemblance to her big brother – she has the same eyes, right?

  5. My sister was 25 days overdue from her August 3rd due date. I suppose it wasn’t really a big deal, since Molly is only 6.9 lbs. (Would have thought she’d be 25 lbs or so by now, huh?)

Babies in my family are traditionally long and skinny. Easier on the moms, I suppose.

  6. Finally! I held onto my first one for 24 extra days and we both paid for it – he weighed almost 10 lbs and one of his legs was bent in such a peculiar way they had to put a cast on it for about 3 months to straighten it out. Can I interest you in 5 boxes of Dale of Norway yarn??? ha ha ha!!

  7. Ohhh I’m such a sucker for a baby. Don’t want kids, but love the babies. Does this mean we get to see the baby blanket pattern soon?

  8. Awwwwe, yay Molly, you made your mama happy! Big brothers always look so gigantic when a new sibling arrives. He’ll act older too when he starts helping out which I’m sure he’s already doing. Congratulations on your sweet family!

  9. welcome to the world at large molly. it’s scary at first, but you have lots of people who love you and will protect you as much as you let them.

    congratulations aunt staci!!!

we request more pictures. get on that!!!

  10. Congratulations Aunt Staci! That’s one lucky kid to come into the world with an amazing handmade wardrobe already waiting for her.

  11. Finally! Now she get to wear all the neat stuff Auntie Staci knitted!

I would think that by 24 days you aren’t just “late”. Someone miscalculated. But what do I know? I know puppies.

  12. Congrats to Aunt Staci and the rest of the family. Babies are so much fun. We welcomed twins, Ava Grace and Chloe Isabella, to our family on Aug 23rd.

  13. Squeeee! Congratulations to the whole family – she is beautiful! I bet your sister is thrilled to finally be past the pregnancy phase of Molly Renee’s life! 😀

  14. While looking for a picture of baby mittens, I found your site! Welcome to the world Miss Molly…I am learning to knit mittens for my seven grandkids ages 2 months to almost 4 years (two families). LOVE the set you made Miss Molly – dare to dream to complete such a project!!

  15. Congrats! Your new niece is adorable! Your sister deserves a medal for hanging in there as long as she did 😉 I couldn’t have imagined being pregnant for an extra month.

  16. Congrats on the new baby girl Molly finally decided to come out of her cozy home, and into a new cozy home I am sure. She is very cute, and big brother looks very proud.

  17. Congrats to your sis and Molly Renee! I feel like your sister was pregnant forever, with all your blog posting about baby knits and all.

  18. Yay! I don’t think I’ve ever heard birth described as a step towards autonomy before, but I like it. 🙂

Day one of being the best dressed baby EVER. 🙂

  19. WOWZA! Happy Birthing Day to your sister! And poor poor Timmy…he’s utterly clueless to the things she is plotting and conniving, even this early in her life. I can see mischief in her eyes 😉

  20. OOOOOOOOO Congrats to your family!!! She is beautiful!!!! That is funny!!! My neices baby who was born last week was also 6.9 oz…and over due…but she had a boy LOL
    Thanks for the share!!!!

  21. Oh she is gorgeous. Well worth the wait. Has she “tried on” her new blanket that her Aunt Staci made?
    Linda
