The Return of the Grumpy Knitwear Model

The people are real. The cases are real. The rulings are final. This is Fast-Topic-Changing Friday!

If you didn’t get that, it only means that you don’t watch Judge Judy.

I added sleeves to this one, and used 2×2 ribbing instead of seed stitch.

The sweater is cute, but I had a tough time with the photo session.

Say it ain’t so.

It’s mostly Stacy’s fault, but I have STASH. And it’s growing.

I had better get knitting.

sew-bendy.jpg A quick plug for a talented friend…Melissa has a new Etsy shop called Sew Bendy where she sells her awesome hand-sewn bags. Perfect for knitting or whatever.

Not only do I love these bags, but I love seeing Melissa so passionate about what she’s doing. Her passion totally shows in her work. Go look!

img_0528.JPG I’ve had a goal this year to catch up on old movies I haven’t seen. I was doing okay on my own, then I happened to make friends with a guy who is a serious smartypants about movies. Now I have help.

I saw this one yesterday on his advice. Loved it.

btw…Ted Turner and your Movies Classics Channel? Yeah, you do me right.

  1. Dude, I’m right there with ya on TCM. I LOVE that station! It’s totally become what AMC used to be–but better. I’ve seen SO many great classics on that channel that I just never got around to before.

  2. mildred pierce is such a great movie!! oh so cool you’re catching up on old movies. i love ’em, too.

    the stash is looking good!

  3. You are so right. Those movies are called classic for a reason. You’re making me want to go find my copy of “Bringing up Baby”.

Oh no, you’ve come to the dark side! You have disrupted the balance of stash in the knitoverse.

  4. OMGoodness I LOVE LOVE LOVE “Mildred Pierce”! I am, however a HUGE fan of Doris Day! I love all her movies. As a matter of fact, I am headed to Carmel in September and my one requirement is to stand in front of her house and hope that I might get a glimpse of her… that is if we can find out the address !LOL.

Awww I love IKE pictures. He’s just too handsome.

  5. Oh what happened to your model, why isn’t she happy? It’s a very nice shrug! Love IKE (as always)- you’re lucky I live in another country, otherwise I think I’d be visiting you and the boys!

And a STASH! NOOOooooooooo! You can’t! You’re my inspiration! My goal! I want to be just like you!!!!

And I agree – I love TCM and AMC!

have a good memorial day weekend

  6. “Stash?! The horror!!” Your yarn stash looks very yummy.
I like Mildred Pierce, I first saw that in an English course at Texas State, we should all get together some night and watch old flicks.

  7. 😮 A Guy????? LOL….I also like old movies. Mrs. Miniver is one of my faves. And anything Alfred Hitchcock….cuz I am twisted like that.
Okay…you have no right having a stash!!! LOL
    Have a great holiday weekend!!!!

  8. I love the modification you did to the sweater. It looks like the perfect sweater to fight office chills.

Thanks for the etsy link….I totally needed another reason to spend money! 🙂

  9. STASH! !
I saw it was capitalized. This from one who prides herself in the lack of.
I knew it was only a matter of time.
Have you been to a Fiber Festival yet? That was my greatest downfall. I can’t believe how much Stash I have. As I am packing to move I am finding more and more. I’m really surprising myself. There is stuff here I totally forgot about.

  10. I’m about to keel over b/c you said you have a STASH! Of course working at a yarn store can definitely make it harder to resist.

  11. The Lion in Winter… one of my favorite old movies. And, I love Robert Osborne’s show. Lot’s of backstory. His show presented the original “Secret Garden” with Margaret O’Brien as Mary Lennox a coupla weeks ago. Great great great. You never know what you’re gonna get on TCM but I generally find myself stopping to watch whatever it is.

    Rock On!
