Crochet for Knitters – Double Crochet

The double crochet stitch is, in my experience, the most commonly used stitch in crochet.

Information on things you’ll see in this video:

The sweater on the mannequin is the Saroyan Scarf, designed by Liz Abinante. Free pattern and video tutorial.

The sweater I’m wearing is the Featherweight Cardigan. I knit mine using Malabrigo Lace yarn.

  1. Thank you so much for all your e-mail videos. I have purchased and made a lot of your patterns, socks, hats, saroyan scarf etc. I am now enjoying the crochet videos and can’t wait to start a granny square.
    Thank you again.

  2. I am trying to learn to crochet and find your videos very good. However, I believe there is a difference between English and American terminology. eg your single crochet is actually double crochet for us and double crochet is treble crochet. Is this correct? Why isn’t there a universal measure for both knitting and crochet?
