Mimi2 for VP

The Mimi Hooded Scarf pattern is based on a design I created several years ago. The pattern has been reworked, rewritten, and the video tutorial (below) was created to walk you through the trickier parts.

Information on things you’ll see in this video:
The yarns I used in my finished scarf are Berroco Ultra Alpaca in color Periwinkle Mix, and Rozetti Wicked Fur in color Tundra Wolf

The poncho on the mannequin behind me is my Rodeo Drive Poncho, pattern + video tutorial.

The purple scarf I’m wearing is this pattern.

The yarn I used in the bulky samples is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky, in colors Yonder, Jam, and Silver.

The little bamboo pins I use can be found here.

The circular needles I used are Addi Turbos.

The nail color I’m wearing is by OPI, “Berries in the Canaries”.

  1. This looks like great fun Staci. Thank you for the pattern, video and clear instructions. I will do this one as a gift down the road for sure.

  2. I am now crocheting my finished hood with scarf. I didn’t have as much luck with my fur yarn, it was broken in several places which won’t matter just more tie ins and my fur is really shedding but I am happy with the way it looks so that is all that matters. This is a for my grand niece who is in her late 20’s and I think she will get a lot of wear out of this, at least I hope so.

  3. Hi Staci,

I made this pattern a few years ago when it first came out. Gave it away to someone who loved it. I actually made it for myself but did not like the pointy end. Does this revamped pattern use short rows to round off the cap? Your German short rows video will make the knitting go like a breeze. Thank you for all you do. Warmly, Regina

  4. Am making this for my friends for Christmas and one for me too. Am on my 4th one. Then I’ll make mine. Really like the basket weave stitch. Thanks staci.

  5. When I knit in the round & change from 3 rnds of knitting to 3 rnds of purling, I get a jagged or stair step stitch every time. Can this be eliminated ? If so how? Thank You! Your videos are great.

  6. Is there a free pattern available? I am not able to buy it but would love to make this for my granddaughters for Christmas. I watch all your tutorials and love the way you explain everything.
