  1. hi staci, i think you said garter st is, knit a row and purl a row in demo, at the begining of knitting in the round tutorial for matterhorn cowl? you said later that it was all knit rows which is correct. if i mis-heard apologies. love your work and teaching skills thankyou x

  2. Julie – when you’re knitting garter stitch in-the-round (like for the cowl), it is knit a row, purl a row. When you’re knitting a flat piece with garter stitch, it’s all knit rows. Hope that helps!

  3. can’t wait for the new tutorial. love the new sweater. it’s just what i have been wanting. having a problem with the website for the free cowl pattern or scarf pattern. i ordered the yarn required, i thought, but it keeps saying what i ordered does not qualify for the free pattern. i tried 4 times. so i finally gave up and cancelled what i had in my cart. i really like the pattern and would like to have it. please help. thanks, susan

  4. Susan – you must enter the promo code in ALL CAPS. This happened to another gal earlier today. If you are still having trouble, you can call Louet customer service – they are very good: 1-800-897-6444

  5. I really like the cowl pattern, so I went to the website to order the yarn right away. 11 of the colors are on backorder! All of the neutrals are unavailable. That is disappointing 🙁 . I am looking forward to your new sweater video, it’s very pretty!

  6. Hi Staci,
Because of this video, I went and ordered 2 skeins of yarn and entered the promo code in all caps, but it kept saying I had already entered it. I continued and purchased the yarn, hoping for a link or something to the pattern, but it didn’t do anything.
    Thanks!
    Susan

  7. Susan – the promo code has been working fine all day, but if you find that your pattern isn’t included with your order, you can call Louet customer service. They are very good! 1-800-897-6444

  8. Thanks Staci! I figured it out. When I checked my email, they list the yarn and one pattern. I was expecting a link to download a pattern, but I guess it will be a hard copy pattern.

  9. Hi Staci. Having trouble reading the chart. I’m making the cowl, so the outlined green- is that repeat the row 3 times or is it work rows 1-36 and then repeat that three times? Thanks.

  10. Jasmin – it is both, be sure to read the entire pattern carefully, even the first page. The chart is repeated around the cast-on stitches three times, then you work Rounds 1-36 once, then 1-33.

  11. Hi Staci, thanks for your tutorial, gorgeous cowl. Although I wish the pattern was written, this looks doable and I want to make it. I love the white too. And that sweater! It is perfect and looks so good on you.

Can you please say where I can purchase your stitch markers? I saw the link in another tutorial but can’t find it. I’m sorry I did not write it down. Thanks Staci, Michelle

  12. I loved this cowl and went right the the site to order. First the color I picked didn’t qualify. Turns out it has to be one that says 100gs in the tittle. Whatever I picked a different color. Thus time the code works but it adds 8.90 to my shipping charge. It went from 10$ to $18.90. I couldn’t believe it. I’m about to call the number Staci posted because that charge costs more than the cowl pattern I’m getting for free!

  13. Hello Staci. You’ve done it AGAIN. I love your work! Your suggestions and instructions are always “right on.” I just placed my order at Louet. Unlike some of the comments above, I had no problem — selected 2 cream and 2 of the red. I also would like to mention that I agree the $8.90 shipping cost is a bit much.

  14. Just an FYI the MATTERHORN code is no longer valid with louet. I emailed their customer service and they verified that the code is no longer valid; however, they did add the paper copy of the pattern to my yarn order free of charge. So it is possible to get the pattern for free with purchase of two worsted skeins, I just had to email them directly for the hard copy; no digital.
