  1. I came across the problem of yo between k and p then between p and k on a sock pattern that I’m working on right now. The way I fixed the tension is after I did the last k I kind of pull the knit down to allow more yarn for the yarn over. Not sure if that makes sense but it’s working.

  2. A suggestion for Stephanie (who was losing her buttons in the wash): try washing the sweater with the sweater inside a net bag; also, try attaching a small man’s shirt button to the backside of the button band (behind the button) when you attach the button. (And I use Staci’s idea of using the knitting yarn to sew on the button.)

  3. Regarding the yos before purl question, there is one thing you can do –

Whenever you have a yo before a purl, wrap the yarn in the opposite way that you would normally do a yo, and on the following row, knit or purl that stitch through the back loop (to not close up the back loop).

This is definitely for picky knitters, but it is a nice solution when a pattern has mirrored yo’s.

    Great podcast =)
