Baby Bobbi Bear is complete! After the sad realization that I was out of yarn while he was still earless and missing an arm, he’s all fixed up now, and cute as can be.
I have a problem, however. My dogs LOVE him. And not in a good way. He must smell like a real animal (alpaca, perhaps?), and my dogs are mighty African hunters. They want to tear his new little arms right off his body. |

Here’s Bobbi, chillin’ on the sofa. Watching a little National Geographic Channel – something about polar bears, I’m sure.
But not for long! Abe wants to disembowel him.
Bobbi was on his way to the kitchen for another beer when Ike tried to chew his face.
I believe that I will keep Bobbi up on a shelf for his own safekeeping. I will bring him any beer he wants, and make sure he gets enough National Geographic Channel.
Thanks again, Drew. The Bobbi Bear kit was a great gift. He was really fun to make. I promise to keep him away from the bad dogs. |

Up next…my own design, still kind of a secret. I can tell you that it is lavender, and will involve a lot of bobbins.
The whole bobbin thing is new territory for me, so, fingers crossed. Shouldn’t this photo be named Knitting in Outer Space or something? |

I gots a little movie for you.
It is called A Symphony of Croutons. Turn up the volume for maximum enjoyment. Abe was there, just not in the video frame. |
Bobbi Bear is too cute! Max would also want to tear him apart and probably would’ve succeeded in disemboweling the skein of yarn during Bobbi Bear’s creation so that he would only halfway exist. Good luck with the bobbins. I’ve only played with those once and it was interesting. Love the Symphony of Croutons!
Oh watch out Bobbi Bear. My Moses is very into disemboweling also–he loves his toys–he just has to get the stuffing out though.
Crunch, crunch, crunch. The video is too funny.
You should be a symphony conductor…c’est magnifique! Is the Bobbi Bear kit something we can buy anywhere because he is just too cute to pass up. I think my cat-dog would also “hunt” down Bobbi Bear. She tends to not like any stuffed animals that are around his size and attacks them feverishly and tries to tear their limbs off.
Hi Bri – I just need to find bigger croutons that last longer. Then I could pull out the baton and really go to town. 🙂
The Baby Bobbi Bear Kit is available – I know that Drew got mine from Patternworks when he was in New Hampshire. I’m having trouble connecting to their website at the moment, but I know they’re there!

I love Bobbi, I think my son would love him as well. Too bad I don’t know how to sew at all.
The croutons syphony was so cute. Your doggies have weird snacking habits. lol.
i’m glad i’m not the only one who is amused by the funny
noises/faces my b’s make while eating things! thanks for the
video-it cheered up my dreary monday morning! and that bear
is adorable.
Did you guys click on the “mighty African hunters” link next to the first photo? Ya gotta. It’s a very cool photo.
Excellent crouton crunching! 😀
Keep Bobbi safe! And you should definitely take the Symphony of Croutons on the road.
Staci! I totally love the crouton crunches. I watched it at least 5 times in a row.
The photo is super cool of the African Hunter with his basenji.
Bobbi is presh and cool at the same time because he drinks beer and is obviously natural prey of the basenji so he lives a hard life.
Man your dogs are so cute! My little chihuahua likes stuff like croutons and chips but doesn’t like dog treats, I still haven’t found one he’ll eat!
Bobbi Bear is adorable – add this to grandchild knitting I want to do. Oh, the crouton symphony was magnificent! Again – they are too cute.
Bobbi Bear is perfect but you’re right, he’ll need to be in a protection/relocation program.
The Crouton Symphony was PRICELESS! So cute! I wonder what a Peanut Butter session looks like! There are other yodeling Basenjis on you-tube too – too cute! I really want one …
Poor Bobbi – he gets no respect. He is adorable and the crouton symphony was hysterical. Hope you’re having a good Monday.
Yup I do believe that is the way it goes. Brought home a little stuffed turtle for Keiki the other day. In a matter of 2.3 seconds the flippers were gone…30 seconds later the head was ripped open and the gruesome insides were strewn about…3 minutes later the belly guts were on the floor and Keiki was sleeping peacefully…
I’m not even going to say what happened to the pig (Lets just say he now needs a wheelchair 🙁 )
Great job on the Bobbi Bear! He is just too adorable, and I love his little bow. Good luck keeping him safe though!
Bobbi is so cute! Good job! I’m glad you were able to match up the yarn!
Mmmm, croutons! So funny!
Oh, no, you knit prey! I’ve been considering knitting a squarey for my couch, but I’m concerned that my cats will knead it to bits.
And all that chomping? Too cute.
I love Bobbi Bear and I want one now! I’m so exhausted and shouldn’t be blogging but had to check in. Still helping my sis move in and help watch her cat so he’s not so lonely. Good knitting while cat-sitting. The lavender project is intriuging—will keep checking for that update. Love the dogs! Funny and cute. Really, I want a Bobbi Bear….
Ha! Loved the Symphony — it’s a little short, but sweet. Bobbi is awesome, but he’d better watch out for the dogs ; )
Cute bear! Taking it like a champ, he is.
cruncha cruncha crrrrrruncha…
Loved the video……… yes, that’s how basenji chomp their food !
LOL, they should stick to kibble and croutons and leave that cute Bobbi Bear alone! Take care !
Rats, someday I’ve just GOT to buy speakers so I can hear things like the Symphony of Croutons. 🙁 (Or else get two more basenjis! ;))
Wow, what’s with the bobbins?! Don’t tell me you’re incorporating lace into the knitting!? This knitting business gets trickier by the day! (I’m STILL not to the point of trying to do the beaded scarf. I think I may have a problem with counting. Sheesh.)
Bobbi Bear looks very … guttable. Better put him high! 🙂
