No real emergencies, but two things are past due.
First, my current knitting project. The lavender one with the masses of bobbins. I told myself that I would be finished with it by Sunday. No real reason for the deadline…I just don’t like projects to linger on too long.
Did you know that 18-month-old babies are significantly bigger than 6-month-olds? Yeah, I should have figured that out, too. There are a LOT more stitches in this sweater than any other baby item I’ve knit. About 35,000 total, if my math is correct.
See the scale there? I’ve been weighing each piece and crossing my fingers. I’m so close to being finished, and so close to being out of yarn… |

The second “thing” that is overdue is my sister. As of today, she is TEN days past her due-date with Molly Renee.
When I talk to her on the phone, she’ll say, “Hello (pant, pant), how’s it going? (pant, pant)”. I’ll say, “How are you? In labor? Why are you panting?” So far, her answer every time has been something like, “Oh, I was just walking to the kitchen.” She isn’t very comfortable. Once Molly Renee is born, I have decided to celebrate by releasing the Renee baby blanket pattern. Hopefully, for my sister’s sake, this will be soon. |

Lou, all stretched out after a very warm morning walk. (He was panting as much as my sister.) |
I bet those needles needed to be cooled off by the time you were done with them! The Renee blanket is gorgeous! Still can’t wait to see the baby surprise, I’m sure you’ll be finished soon!
Lou is so adorable! I like his white little belly!
I gotta tell you, I’m anxiously awaiting that baby blanket pattern. I love it so.
Yikes, ten days! I hope everything happens soon and goes as smoothly as possible. Poor thing! At least the high temps there today are only 69! Can you imagine how horrible it would be being 10 days overdue in this craptastic heat? Ugh!
Can’t wait to see the finished product. I bet it’s going to be presh.
I loooove that baby blanket pattern and I can’t wait for its release and to hear about the baby! I’ll be thinking baby thoughts!. My friend was 13 days late and she was so uncomfortable and couldn’t sleep and it was summer, so I hope you hear good news soon.
I hope Molly Renee makes her grand appearance soon! I feel like you do with this Venus sweater I’m trying to finish. I knit 3 or 4 rows, fold it up and look at how much further I have to go and repeat. You’d think I’d figure out to stop measuring it eventually! Good luck finishing things up!
Jack was 13 days overdue before we went in and got him. He wasn’t to thrilled with that. Maybe that’s why he’s such a mama’s boy.
Been keeping an eye on your Raverly page, hopeing for a sneek peak at the new sweater.
so, there’s no “get out of jail free date” for your sister. she just has to wait and wait and pee every 2 minutes?
Must be the time of year for overdue babies…
I know many that are!!! I will do the baby dance for her!! (Something I made up for a friend of mine who is also overdue!!)
I also love that baby blanket pattern, and I love the color you chose. Pinks and greens are my favorite colors so I am biased of course. 🙂
I am sending positive thoughts your sister’s way.
Oh my, your poor poor sister–this is not fair! I am sending her all my laboring and motherly vibes for a jump start so you can see your niece and she can get some much needed relief. I’m so in awe of your knitting abilities–the lavender garment has my curiousity heightened! Looks like Lou was in a labor-mantra too for your sis.
Can’t wait to see the bobbin surprise. And I feel for your sister, Toby was also 10 days late, but then they put me on the drip. I guess Alaska is Different than NFLD, they will only let you go a certain amount of time over then they give you cream and the drip and anything to speed along the process. My thoughts and prayers are with your sister. Love the Renee baby blanket, I am sure it is something your sister and later Molly Renee will appreciate and love. Lou is so sweet enjoying a ly down. 🙂
