Pona has become sort of a favorite at the vet’s office, and this is his best friend there. Her name is Laurie, and she’s the vet tech who does Pona’s bandage changes every week.
Every time we get out of the car to go into the vet’s office, Pona does his DO NOT WANT routine, and refuses to walk in the door. That’s until he sees Laurie. Then his ears perk up and he wags his tail. He willingly walks through to the back with her, because he’ll follow her anywhere.
Pona’s doing well. Another few weeks in the hardware, and his leg should be healed. He feels so good lately. He’s completely off meds and gets himself around pain-free. We should be able to start heartworm treatment soon.
Pona’s been at my house for just over a month now. He’s come a long way, and I’m so proud of him.
In case you were wondering why there hasn’t been much knitting on verypink lately…it’s because it’s all about secret Christmas knitting right now.
Oh she looks like a lovely girl – so nice for you and Pona and glad to hear he’s coming along so well.
And I wonder how you get any knitting done at all with all that goes on in your house. One day I think you should publish a ‘day in the life of Staci’!
I think Pona might want to be adopted by her. 🙂
Agree with Shannon 100%
I think it would be awesome if Laurie could adopt him, but she must see 10 sweet, adoptable dogs a day in her business. She probably has 4 dogs, 10 cats, and 3 hamsters at home already.
Something I didn’t mention in the post…I told her that she’s Pona’s favorite, and she said (in her doggie baby talk voice), “Because I always tell him how handsome he is!” haha Is that the trick to make a dog love you?
Has it been that long already? He looks really big and lanky on her lap!
Pona is a lucky ( and handsome) Bboy to have two lovely women in his life : )
Hurray for Pona!
I haven’t popped in a while, so it’s lovely to see P is doing so well, what a cutie, and how lucky to love his vet assistant, it makes it so much easier if he likes someone at the office!
Can’t believe I missed the give-away! That’s what you get for not checking in more frequently!
Just out of interest, do you do all your socks on DPNs? or do you use the magic loop sometimes as well? I’m still debating which one would be easier.
all i can say to this christmas knitting is — you go girl. way to get a jump.
i am stalled out!
