The sweater I knit and gave to Casey:
I found this information about row gauge. I think it’s probabl got some good advice, especially the part about trying a needle made with a different material.

If you think about it, when one is sewing by machine the stitch length involves feed as well as tension. So it’s in the knitting methods of the knitter. Perhaps condo knitting would help.
I realize this is late as it’s now May 9th, but I have had the same issue with getting gauge. I have changed my needle type, for example from nickel plated to wood and that will make a positive difference for me. I find that I do not always get to knit a piece with my preferred needles, but I’d rather make a garment that fits. Hope this helps someone.
Just watched the video about Women’s Winter. My stepdad was in the maintenance dept. at a very large company and would often get calls about this very thing. He go sick and tired of going up there and explaining to them that they did not have a temperature control in their area. To, hopefully, shut them up he decided to tell them that there would be control installed over the weekend that should solve their problem. The ladies come into work on Monday and sure enough there is a dial control on the wall. He rarely got a call about the temperature after that. And guess what?…..it was a dummy control. He just tacked one up on the wall and it wasn’t connected to anything! Not sure where he got the idea from, but it sure made his life easier. lol
