The yarn I used Knit Picks Capra in Magnolia and Blush. The yarn I used in the worsted-weight hat is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Tweed in Papaya Heather and Oyster Heather. For the hat with the single-row stripes, I used the technique of helix knitting. (Helix knitting is a bit more complicated than a single-color cap, I would recommend using helix knitting in your cap to only more confident knitters.)
The faux fur pompoms are from this Etsy shop, I used the 4″ size.
The purple/pink hat is the larger size, the purple/gray hat is the larger size, the worsted weight hat is the smaller size, the helix knitting (striped) hat is the smaller size.
What size is the pink hat?
Thanks nice pattern!
The pink hat with the purple cuff is knit in the larger size.
Thank you for sharing this pattern. Happy holidays to you!
Thanks so much for the hat pattern, Staci. It is really cute, especially with the pom. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
Thank you, Staci! ??? Happy holidays!
Woops. The ??? Are supposed to be hearts 🙁

Love this tutorial, have always wanted to try the double hem. If I wanted to make a beanie with the double hem, no slouch and no pom, how many inches would you knit before starting the decrease? Would you still use the same # of stitches?
Kathleen – I can’t help much with pattern modifications, but I’d probably make the hat 2 or 3 inches shorter to make a non-slouchy hat.
Ok thank you!
Thank you so much fo the pattern. I’ve been wanting to try the cuff since you demonstrated it some time ago. Now I shall.
What a cute hat!!! Thank you so much for the pattern. Just one question. If you are using worsted yarn is the cast on amount the same with size 6 needles or do I go by gauge? Thank you again.
Linda
Yes – same needle size, same gauge, same everything. Just makes a less drapey fabric.
Thank you so much, and have a Merry Christmas!
Staci. Thank you. I never fail to learn something new from every video you share. I look forward to making this hat. Certainly more than once.
Thanks so much for the gift! Can’t wait to knit it up. Can you suggest a resource to modify for a chunky yarn? I’d like to start learning how to go that. For now I have the perfect worsted to get started today.
Changing the gauge (using a different yarn weight) would mean starting from scratch with an entirely new pattern, it isn’t an easy modification, sorry.

Thank you, good to know!
Thank you, for The Holiday Cheers!!
I am now finally doing your double magic loop on socks!!
Super fun and yes next is a new winter gear head warmer fashion!!
Hugs ~ Staci <3
LOVE THIS! Thank you so much. What yarn did you use on the used helix stripped hat? It’s gorgeous!
Great hat! Thanks for the cuff tutorial. As I was working the cuff (a little messy the first time around) I realized the two sets of needles holding the stitches seems to create a perfect foundation for a double knit hat. Have you tried that and if so was it successful? Thanks again!
Thank you staci for your free hat. Merry Christmas.??
