I just listened to your replies about what to do with yarn “scraps”. I’d like to know if your listener was referring to just a few inches or small balls. There are lots of so-called scrappy projects, suitable, for leftovers. I saw a sweater yesterday that literally had just a short line of, of a contrasting color randomly placed. If one makes stuffys, there may be components, which take a tiny bit of yarn. Personally I am in the process of making a mitered square blanket, from leftover sock yarn.
I love the blanket(with your dog underneath?) in the picture for this episode! Is it crochet? Can you share the pattern? Thank you!
Hi Lisa – it is crocheted, yes, and it is a Granny Square blanket:

Instead of joining a bunch of little squares, I decided to just keep going around and around in one giant granny square.

Thank you! The blanket and your pup are beautiful!
Another idea for the scraps is to recycle it. Hedgehog fibers has a new tweedy yarn line and they take any scraps of yarn, and they give you a discount code for their yarn. Win. Win. I haven’t done this myself, I’m not sure how economical it is for me to ship to Ireland, but I started saving my scraps. I think I need a pretty jar like Casey mentioned. https://shop.hedgehogfibres.com/pages/recycle-with-hhf
The woman asking about standing and knitting, what about a standing desk? She could put the yarn or project (if it’s big) on the desk while she knits. I didn’t hear that mentioned.
So happy you’re back to pod casting! I love listening every week!
Regarding the standing while knitting question, maybe an apron with a large front pocket could be used. When I saw this product, that’s what I thought I’d use it for – https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/garden/clothing/aprons/74739-kangaroo-pocket-apron?utm_campaign=107451_ePromo-Imp-99W9230-Self-WateringModularPlanter-CA&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Lee%20Valley&dm_i=6EER,2AWR,17I2CV,AMSV,1
