Welcome back!
Canadians typically reference needle size by their metric size (i.e. 3.5 or 4.0 mm etc). I’m not familiar with Canadian needle sizes so that is perhaps specific to the set Staci was referencing, or something that didn’t have a lot of “sticking power”. I also don’t have any notable issues with using patterns from the US, or Europe; nothing a quick Google search won’t clarify 🙂
