Slow Motion Pinhole Cast-On

This cast-on is a way to create stitches when you’re starting at the center of a piece, and knitting out. (You’ll need this cast-on for next week’s new sock tutorial!)

The circular swatch I knit uses the Pi Circle technique, video coming soon!

Slow Motion Tinking

“Tinking” is the word we use for “unknitting”, or unraveling stitches one at-a-time. In this video, I demonstrate tinking in slow-motion, both knit and purl stitches.

You can see my other slow-motion videos here.
You can see my regular speed tinking videos here and here.

The yarn I use for demonstration is Paintbox Yarns Wool Mix Chunky.
The scarf on the mannequin (not my design) can be found here.

Weaving Ends in Stripes

Weaving in ends can be tricky enough, without multiple colors going on, right? In this video, I demonstrate how to weave in ends when you’re working with narrow stripes.

The yarn used in the sample is Paintbox Wool Mix Chunky.

Tubular Cast-On in the Round

In this video, I demonstrate the 2×2 tubular cast-on, and how to join this CO in-the-round.

Instructions for working this cast-on:
1. Using a provisional cast-on and scrap yarn, cast-on HALF of the total number of stitches you need.
2. Starting at the slip knot end with a knit row, knit 4 rows of stockinette stitch (knit a row. purl a row).
3. Remove the provisional cast-on and slip those stitches on to another needle, line up those needles.
4. Knit 2 knit stitches from the front needle, 2 purls from the back needle, repeat those Ks and Ps across all of the stitches.
5. If you are joining in-the-round, this is the time to join in-the-round.

The cowl on the mannequin is Color My Cowl, free pattern and tutorial.
The bulky yarn I used for demonstration is Paintbox Yarns Wool Mix Chunky.
The yellow alpaca yarn is Valley Yarns Sunderland in Beeswax.
The needles I use are Knitter’s Pride Ginger.
