On Friday, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Lindiwe Maqhubela from Inspiration for Creation. In a very unique interview for me, Lindi asks me about being an entrepreneur, the creative process, marketing, balancing work and life, and managing my public persona.
Lindi has a great blog with lots of interviews of interesting and creative folks. I’m honored to be a part of her work!
I really enjoyed getting to understand more of your business roots. I wonder, as you are separating your business and personal life, do you think you will pick up random knit projects or explore new crafts as a way to de-stress?
I always have my “fun” knitting project going, that has nothing to do with work. I really love knitting, and given a little free time, it’s always what I choose to do!

Hi Staci, you mentioned that all of your videos are still useful – THEY ARE! When I started knitting and found your channel I watched every single one! As a beginner knitter, the more advanced project videos were over my head, but just having the content piped into my brain really allowed me to feel more comfortable with the lingo and become an “adventurous beginner”. Thank you!
I really enjoyed watching this interview. I’ll be looking forward to that cotton sweater your working on.
I use blog-loving to follow all my favorite blogs, they are updated as each blogger posts updates so I never worry about missing something. It’s a great way to stay up to date.
I noticed you didn’t mention Ravelry where people can see all the patterns you have for purchase and get to see the finished knits that you helped people create.
Oh and I had to mention I love that your pets are named after presidents. I’m more of a cat person but I love all animals. I had a cat named after president Abraham Lincoln and his name was Lincoln. Now I’m going to look up William Henry Harrison!
Such an interesting interview – and your Ike is adorable !
Hello Ms. Stacy! I’m Rachel and I started knitting when I was seven. Your interview was very interesting and pink(very pink!)! Also, I love your tutorials and patterns. They are extremely interesting. Love your website!
Loved the interview, Staci! I also agree, all your videos are still useful. You are my go-to when I have questions about technique. I can always find the answer in your videos.
I do have a question about your You Tube channel. I follow and watch videos from your blog. Would it benefit you more (advertising revenue) to follow your You Tube channel instead? I am not sure if watching/commenting on your blog counts toward You Tube.
Hi Peggy – thank you for the note, and thank you for your question! You’re welcome to follow me wherever you like – my blog, Facebook, YouTube – it makes no difference, advertising wise. I do appreciate your question!

Hi Staci
I have enjoyed this interview because your informative and show an independence that I have at the age of 45. I just wish I had the courage to do a business like yours involving my knitting/crochet and the only thing that frightens me is ‘what do I live on’ because unless you have savings, you still need to pay the utilities and food. Thank you.
Regards Susan
Staci, thank you for your generosity in freely sharing with others not only your knitting knowledge but also sharing in this video your experiences in becoming an entrepeneur!
I do appreciate that you are not self-promoting!
Previously, I had the opportunity to experience how helpful you are: I was frustrated when things were not turning out the way the illustration showed, and I emailed you seeking help. Even though it was not your pattern, you responded to me quickly with very helpful instructions.
Wishing you continued success! maria elena knits
Hi Staci,
I just now watched this video (a little behind) and I wanted to tell you I truly enjoyed hearing about how you started your business and about your marketing background. I also enjoyed and appreciated Lindi’s interviewing style. I want to check out her blog as well. I had to chuckle when you mentioned that mostly younger knitters watch your videos etc. I will be 74 later this month and have followed you for quite a while. If it is true the older folks don’t watch because of not being technically savvy I am sorry to hear that. The elderly are on computers more and more, it keeps us linked with the outside world and up-to-date on so many things.
Perhaps someone should do a tutorial for elderly folks who want to become more savvy.
