Other things (thing, in this case) we talk about:
We mention the podcast episode with Emily Felix, the founder of Reunion Yarn and Unraveling Club.
I was listening to one of our podcasts and a knitter had her bamboo yarn bleed. You guys suggested vinegar to get the dye to adhere to the yarn.
Vinegar is wonderful for wool or animal based yarn.
Plant based yarns adhere to a better with soda ash or Synthrapol. I do a lot of cotton dying and vinegar is not good to use in the wash with cotton. Another major product on the market are Color Catchers with a company known as Shout.
Plant based fibers require a lot rinsing when you are done dying it. I found Cushing Dyes are the best and require less rinsing.
Really enjoy your show!
