In this video, I demonstrate a technique that looks a lot like two-color brioche stitch, but is a bit easier to work. The written instructions are available as a FREE RAVELRY DOWNLOAD, and include directions for both flat and in-the-round.
Information about things you’ll see in this video
In the scarf example (flat), I used:
Addi Natura Bamboo Interchangeable needles
Uneek Worsted Superwash – urthyarns.com, color 4012
Berroco Vintage Chunky, color 6124
In the hat (in-the-round) sample I used:
Tulip Bamboo Interchangeable needles
Marigold Fibers yarns
My nail polish is Gelish “It’s a Lily”.
Oh, I so want to try this .. thank you for all information, links, pattern and video. Couldn’t even think of doing this without you. Thank you for broadening knitting possibilities for me.
Love this! Can you do a little video doing this technique in the round?
Thanks.
I too would like to see a video of this in the round. I amd making a two color hat and confused about when to change colors. After one round which is part one of hte stitch or after round two and the second part of the stiich? Love yoru videos , espceially German twisted cast on.
Just alternate colors every other round, at the beginning of the round. That’s all there is to it!

Staci:
The directions (flat) say that row 1A (light colour) is “*Knit 1, purl 1 below, knit 1*, repeat between *s to end of row.” I just wanted to check: should that read
“Knit 1, *purl 1 below, knit 1*, repeat between *s to end of row.”, so that only the last two stitches are repeated to the end of the row, instead of all three stitches?

Ack! Thank you for bringing this to my attention, yes, the asterisk is in the wrong place. I’ll update the pattern now!
