  1. I got the last 3 skeins of Fixation—blue, granny smith, and wine—all 50% off from my LYS when they closed their physical location and took the business online-only :’-( I’ve wanted to make a pair of very loud socks, but I’m worried about my tension. I haven’t knit socks yet, and they definitely won’t be my first pair. I was surprised recently knitting a swatch in Cascade Longwood Sport. I have a lot of natural fiber yarns now, but, as a fairly new knitter (8 months in), I still constantly reach for acrylics (and some cotton/bamboo stuff for Knitted Knockers), because I’m mostly trying out ideas, and experimenting, not knitting patterns. I’ve gotten very fast, and switched to continental, and my tension is pretty even, but the Longwood was *so stretchy* compared to even the softest acrylics. I made such a lumpy swatch. I had to put on my kid gloves and work so gently. Probably part of that is that it’s a sport weight, and I’m always in worsted and up, but I think, based on this, that Fixation is going to seem insanely stretchy. I need to work my over to it, through a bunch of wools first.
