Addi FlexiFlips Overview
FlexiFlips Q&A
Bernat Blanket isn’t slubby, or acrylic. It’s very uniform in thickness (super bulky), like a pipe cleaner, and 100% polyester, including the carrier thread. I’ve tried making hats in it, with 1×1 and 2×2 ribbing, and they’re just frumpy. It’ll stretch out over your head, and then sit there like a lamp shade, no tension. I think it’s the hairs. They just collapse under contact, like laying in a thick bed of tall grass. It doesn’t push back; wherever one strand contacts another, the hairs on both just splay out in all directions, and give up.
Hi Staci. Can you give us a heads up as to the size of flexi-flips you’re going to be using in the upcoming sock pattern? I’d like to have what’s needed on hand when the video is released.
Virginia – funny you should ask…I’m test knitting these in both 2.5 and 2.75mm to see if there is much difference in a quarter of a millimeter. If you have thinner feet and ankles, I’d go with 2.5. If you have wider feet and ankles, I’d go with 2.75.

My freind wants to start knitting with circular needles. I want to buy her maybe 5or6 to get started. What size/ cable length combos are most common?
Thank you for any recommendations
Janette
Janette – It really depends, I actually recommend getting a pattern first then buying the needles required for the pattern. But in general terms, for worsted weight yarn (the most common) needle sizes of 7 or 8 US are usually required, and a 24″ cord is a common and useful length.S t a c i
Hi,
I’m trying to find a link to email you questions for your podcast.
I’ve been watching your excellent slow-motion YouTube videos. I have learned long tail cast-on and a stretchy bind-off thanks to you.
I watched your make one video. I knit Continental and am having trouble grasping the rolling technique you show to knit into the extra stitch once the yarn is on the left needle if you wasn’t to avoid knitting through the back of that stitch. (I also have trouble knitting into the back of the stitch (despite using fairly sharp metal needles) when I try using that part of the make one method.) I’m using silk-mohair & a wool-silk blend carried together. This would probably be easier using thicker yarn, but I can’t give up now. I watched a video (not yours) for make one Conti style, but that left a hole. Thank you.
I’ll forward this to the podcast@verypink.com email address so we can get your question on the pod, thanks!S t a c i
