Steeking

  1. I use the knitted dishclothes for dishes. I just usually use a thinner weight cotton yarn or cotton yarn blend. If I do use thicker weight though it usually doesnt take too much longer to dry.

  2. Wow, I was so thrilled to hear my question about steeking the Flax sweater on this episode. The sweater is finished. I did not add any extra stitches to the sweater’s circumference in addition to 5 stitches for the steek. My button bands were slightly wider than my column of steek stitches. I just wanted to add that I should have considered the pattern’s neck style before steeking. The Flax pattern has a boat neck, which causes the cardigan to constantly slip down my shoulders unless it is buttoned.

  3. I listened to this episode after 170, so I also want to say y’all’s podcasts will be dearly missed. My comment on this episode is about the question about one side of the V being straight and the other looking correctly V shaped, it’s not you, it’s the yarn.. specifically how it’s made. I’ll include the links so you can see what I mean: https://lorileebeltman.com/2016/11/02/knit-stitches-that-look-like-check-marks-its-not-your-fault/ AND http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall05/FEATwhyply.html
