knitCompanion – Customizing Written Patterns

In this video, I demonstrate how to customize written instructions in the knitCompanion app, to make it super easy to keep track of where you are.

To try knitCompanion, visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and search for knitCompanion (one word) to download the free version of the app.

You can see all of the videos in my knitCompanion series (more coming!) here.

The pattern I use for example is Lost in a Dream Hooded Cape, you can get more info on the pattern and tutorial here.

The scarf on the mannequin is Trigo (not my design), more info here on Ravelry.

To stay safe during the pandemic, I’m shooting videos at my home studio and transferring the files to my producer for editing. I’m also cutting my own hair and doing my own nails…thank you for being patient with the changes while we all do our best to stop the spread of this virus. Stay safe, my friends.

  1. I love these Knitter’s Companion videos, Staci! Thank you so much for your continued faithful contribution to my knitting life and the knitting community as a whole. You are so stinking awesome!

  2. Thanks so much for these videos. I love using knitcompanion, but I am a visual learner and these have helped me with some instructions I didn’t quite understand. Now it’s even better. Keep up the good work. A Very pink fan.

  3. Thanks Staci, even as a long time user I learn new things about KC. Looking forward too use KC for things being done at the same time!

  4. Thank you, Stacy. I love your videos. Your hair and nails look great!
I love the wrap on the mannequin. I went on Ravelry and bought the pattern. Will you have a tutorial for that soon?

  5. Hi Staci, I just want to say thank you for your great knitting advice. I have just started fairisle knitting and you are my go to for information. You explain it so well, just like having a chum round to show you what to do. I have made your cowl and will try to add it to the Instagram feed. Thanks again, from Laura in Bonnie Scotland!
