Slow Motion Flicking Knits and Purls

In this video I demonstrate the knitting style of “flicking” and switching between knits and purls in rib and seed stitch.

You can see all of my slow-motion videos here.
You can see my other flicking videos here.

The scarf on the mannequin is Lighten Up, here is my project on Ravelry.
The needles I’m using are Knitter’s Pride DPNs.
The yarn I’m using is Paintbox Aran.

  1. Staci I can’t get enough of this. I’ve been trying and will keep trying. I don’t have the will to do a whole blanket like you did to master this technique, but I want to be able to have this in my tool box along with my current technique of combo knitting. I love the idea of being able to do color work with both hands without having to do that traditional English knitting movement. Thank you thank you thank you!

  2. Thank you, thank you for this video! I’m a continental knitter working a Fair Isle sweater. In working with 2 colors I hoped there was a better way than throwing the other yarn which seemed too cumbersome for me. Between the slow motion and the Q&A videos I think I got it! Still a little clumsy but faster! Thanks again!
