Hi Staci! Regarding the sweater sleeves question in your podcast this week, I share the same annoyance and what I do now is I knit the sleeves before the body of the sweater as follows:
When I get to the point where we’re supposed to put the sleeve sts on scrap yarn, I knit the 1st sleeve instead by knitting the sleeve sts followed by the corresponding cast on sts, joining in the round and proceeding to knit the sleeve. When finished with sleeve, I attach the yarn and pick up sts where the cast on sts are and continue knitting the body until I reach the other set of sts for the other sleeve. I then repeat the process as for the 1st sleeve and when finished with the 2nd sleeve, I once again attach the yarn picking up sts along the cast on edge of the 2nd sleeve and resume knitting the rest of the body.
I hope you were able to follow my description. This method eliminates having the whole sweater hanging while I knit sleeves.
