The name of bulky yarn I used to demonstrate weaving in the ends is lost to time – sorry! I think “Peruvian Wool” was part of the name.

The nail polish I’m wearing is by Julep, and isn’t actually a color, but I like the way it looks. It’s a nail treatment, called Oxygen Nail Treatment. It seems to help my nails grow, and prevents chipping and peeling.

Crochet for Knitters – Woven Stitch

In this Crochet for Knitters video, I show you how to work the Woven Stitch as a dishcloth. This stitch is pretty and really fun to work! Info below on how to try it out as a dishcloth, and if you end up loving the stitch, you can easily work it into a whole blanket or throw.

Instructions for working this stitch:
Chain a multiple of 2 + 3
Row 1: skip 2 chain stitches, 1 single crochet in next stitch, *chain 1, skip 1 chain stitch, 1 single crochet* repeat between *s to end of row, chain 2, turn work.
Row 2: *1 single crochet in chain space of previous row, chain 1*, repeat between *s to end of row, 1 single crochet in the turning chain space of previous row, chain 2, turn work.
Repeat Row 2.

Information on things you’ll see in this video:
In the striped dishcloth I made, I used Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in colors Fizz and White. I used a size H crochet hook, and a starting chain of 31.

Crochet for Knitters – Basketweave Stitch

In this Crochet for Knitters video, I show you how to work the Basketweave stitch as a dishcloth. This stitch is pretty and really fun to work! Info below on how to try it out as a dishcloth, and if you end up loving the stitch, you can easily work it into a whole blanket or throw.

Instructions for working this stitch:
Chain multiple of 6 + 3
Row 1: skip 2 chains, *double crochet in next chain, repeat from * to end, chain 2, turn work.
Rows 2 & 3: skip 1 double crochet, *1 post double crochet around the front (3 times), 1 post double crochet around the back (3 times)* repeat between *s to end, 1 double crochet in turning chain, chain 2, turn work.
Rows 4 & 5: skip 1 double crochet, *1 post double crochet around the back (3 times), 1 post double crochet around the front (3 times)* repeat between *s to last stitch, 1 double crochet in turning chain, chain 2, turn work.
Repeat Rows 2-5.

Information on things you’ll see in this video:
The yarn I used for my dishcloths is Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in colors Silver Sage and Fizz.
I used a size H crochet hook, with a starting chain of 27 stitches. Each dishcloth is about 6 inches square, and used 22 grams of yarn.

The crochet hook I’m using is probably 20 years old (an old favorite, mostly for the color of it), size H, and is made by Boye.

Ravelry Tips – Finding Pattern Help

Why is My Knitting Curling?

Why is my knitting curling, and will blocking stop the curling? Two questions knitters often ask me. In this video, I address those questions, show you when curling is a good thing, and explain the difference between stitch combos that curl and those that don’t.
