  1. Hi, Staci!

In the summer, I like to knit just about anything, but lean toward smaller projects like hats, socks, dishcloths, mittens, etc.; portable things that don’t take much time to complete or that drape too heavily across my lap. That interchangeable set would definitely be put to good use for many of those smaller projects!

I’m a huge fan of your tutorials and knitting help videos because they are so precise, clear and uncluttered; very easy to understand. Through those videos, you have helped me broaden my knitting skills, and that has challenged me to take on many different projects, instead of just scarves (I can’t begin tell you how many of those I knitted!).

Again, thanks so very much for those great videos — keep them coming!

  2. In the summer I like to knit items for following fall and winter…shawls, scarves, cowls, fingerless gloves, and socks.

Love your instructional videos. They have helped me numerous times.

  3. Hi Staci,

I’m with Rosa, small things that don’t drape across my lap. Right now I’m working on a stocking cap out of 100% fingering Llama, soft and not heavy at all.

Thanks for your awesome videos and tips.

  4. During the summer, I like variety. Most often, I will knit items such as cotton wash cloths to give as gifts and charity hats or scarves. These are good projects since they are small and I can take them on the run.

  5. The season doesn’t matter much to me. I’m knitting another Hitchiker in fingering wool and a baby blanket in acrylic. Love your videos and blog.

  7. Early on I made lacey fingerless gloves in cotton/elastic yarn for my mother-in-law after hand surgery. She loves them! This summer I’m working on shawls. They can be worn this summer or fall by whomever inherits them!
I appreciate your tutorials…thank-you so much!

  8. I knit all the same stuff all year round, I never thought about ‘seasonal’ knitting until now. I will be starting my first shawl this weekend and I am excited.
Thank you Staci, for teaching me so much about knitting, your videos are great, I like that I can see your hands while you show a stitch or technique but that we can also see you.

  9. I work a lot with cotton, linen and bamboo in the summer and i mostly make tops. Usefull stuff since the summer is looong here in Greece!
Thank you Staci for all the effort you put into the videos. It is very much appreciated!

  11. Hi Staci,
I’m a new knitter and I want to knit summer hats for my granddaughter who is 1 1/2 years old.

  12. I mistyped my email address in my previous comment. I wanted to knit summer hats for my granddaughter who will turn one this October!

  13. I noticed that I like to knit with cotton in the summer, because wool is really warm on your lap when the weather is sunny. So a summer jacket or tunic, or small gifts, in cotton are the projects I will work on (this way I can wear summer clothing in winter… yes, I am a very slow knitter ;)).

Thanks for all your beautiful tutorials, I am a big fan!

  14. I have looked on YouTube every where that I know to look and I can not find where I can leave a comment to enter in the contest this week!! Please Help!!!?
    Thanks!!

  15. I love to knit socks and am planning on taking them on vacation with me. Also do a pi shal at home.

  16. I’m starting my Christmas knitting already. Mittens for Christmas presents as well as dishcloths. Everything takes little longer so is better to have early start.

  17. My favorite all time knitted item is the Basket Weave Cowl. I have made several for gifts and have requests for more. Anything small, hats, headbands. I just finished my first sock ever so they will be on my summer list now too. Thank you

  18. I like to get out my cotton and knit dish cloths and my cotton cover ups. This year, I will be knitting all kinds of lightweight baby items for my little niece, oooh and a sunhat. Lol Thanks so much Staci!

  19. Thanks to your video on Magic Loop socks, I learned to knit toe up socks about a year ago. Today, after watching your video on making two at a time Magic Loop socks, I am starting a new adventure–two socks at a time. Your videos are wonderful.

  20. My summer knitting has to be portable and able to travel by plane or car–particularly projects that will fit in a mesh bag, hiya-hiya project bag or tootsie bag. Right now portable projects are two shawls (mesh bags), yoga socks (hiya-hiya bag) and baby mary janes (tootie bag). Cotton dishcloths are my go-to car projects, and the projects I take on a plane must be on circular needles. The 16″ set would be perfect! Don’t you think?

Love your blog and video tutorials. Absolutely wonderful. Thank you!

  21. Staci, I also meant to tell you your hands are beautiful and love the nail polish 🙂

  22. Hi, In the summer I like to knit socks and Shawlettes. This summer though we have another Grandson due the end of August so baby items are my main knitting things! This set would be great for hats for the baby and his 2 year old brother! Wonderful videos!!! I really enjoy them!

  23. I agree with all the comments on small items. I am working on my first pair of socks. Then will fall in mind, I will start convertible fingerless mittens.

  24. Hi there. Love your instructions. Yours is the only website I use now for tutorials. So easy to understand. I’ve expanded my knitting knowledge immensely since I found your site. This summer I plan on staring my Christmas projects for my two granddaughters. Thank you for helping out all of us knitters !
