As if We Were Both Quite Insane

Pour some Fast-Topic-Changing-Friday on me.

Okay.

Warning: This is a seriously Basenji-heavy post. It’s been a seriously Basenji-heavy week.

img_2755.JPG Brucie, my foster dog, started heartworm treatment this week.

He is supposed to be still and quiet for TWO MONTHS.

img_2881.JPG So That Guy bought this sweet, teenytiny bed for the teenytiny dog.

Brucie never gets to enjoy it, because it’s always overflowing with way too much Ike.

day-264.jpg I thought keeping Brucie quiet would mean that I would have a lot of knitting time.

Nope.

img_2796.JPG I know I’ve said it before, but That Guy is seriously dreamy for a lot of reasons.

Here he is, demonstrating some dreaminess with the native carry. He does animal rescue too, so he totally “gets” it.

Instead of being weirded-out by all of the dogs in my house, he just helps with handing out affection.

img_6784.JPG I’m still working on supersecret knitting that I can’t show you. Instead, here is what I was knitting one year ago today.

It is strange to look at this picture and remember. So much has changed in the past year.

Next…!

img_2936.JPG One of these dogs snagged this folded t-shirt from the bathroom counter and placed it neatly on the futon.

I don’t know how or why…I just take the photos around here.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Poor Brucie! How on EARTH do you keep a dog still and quiet for 2 months? I mean isn’t that kind of like asking the wind not to blow? How dangerous are these heart worms, I know nothing about them.

It’s so awesome that The Guy really gets the dogs thing. I really can’t imagine you with a guy who isn’t dog-friendly. It just wouldn’t work. hehe

  2. poor brucie… i suppose it would be too much to try kicking ike out of the special bed that guy bought for little brucie. (are you getting the hint ike?)

i’m glad that guy likes the boys. it would have been difficult to explain to the police that your dogs ate him because he didn’t like them.

  3. Tammy – keeping Brucie quiet is a challenge. He is supposed to feel really sick right now with the heartworm treatment…but he doesn’t. Dare I say it? He sometimes acts like he’s never felt better in his life. Oy. Luckily, he’s cool with the crate.

  4. Maybe you could get an ex-pen for Brucie and set it up in the house so he has a little more room to move around without having enough room to run and jump. And tell us more about That Guy, such as what king of dogs does HE have, how tall is he, what is is astological sign, etc.

  5. VP, you call it “native carry”? It was more like a scene from “When Animals Attack”.
Your Evil African Voodoo Dogs frighten me. By “handing out affection” you must really mean, “bonks the evil beasts on the head”. Brucie/WHH is the worst of the bunch! He is only a foster…. He is only a foster…. He is only a foster….

  6. Wow!

That Guy must be really brave. To have that “Evil African Voodoo Dog” so close to his tender jugular….

  7. What, nitting? Not, K-nitting? What’s the deal? Are you “k” phobic? or, gasp, are you “k” prejudiced?

  8. I want to meet Brucie, sounds like my kinda dog!
Also, I think it’s about time you finish up with that supersecret knitting… seriously.

  9. Completely off topic, I have a knitting question I hope you can help with. The pattern line goes like this:
    (YO) twice, P2tog, k2, (p1k1) three times, p1, k2
    next row:
    sl1, k1,YO, k2tog, k1, YO, k2tog, K4, (YO) twice, P2tog, drop second loop of double YO

I’m having trouble with the “drop second loop of double YO”. I’m sitting here with a HUGE question mark over my head going WTF? Is it possible for you to help with my quandry? THANK YOU.

  10. Wishing Brucie good health and a speedy recovery. I know what you mean, after my Jazz was spayed she was supposed to be in a lot of pain and was supposed to be kept still – all she wanted to do was sprint – EVERY WHERE! It was very hard to keep her from playfighting too! Crazy dogs!

Thank you for taking care of him and all your other puppies.

keep on knitting! and writing great posts!

  11. That Guy (from what we’ve seen of him) looks totally hot! (Brucie looks great, too). Glad to see all of you doing so well.
