(Hello, Knitters!) I made this post so you can share with your non-knitting friends, to help turn your normal friends into knitting friends.)
Sitting at home? Want to learn something new and fun and turn tv time into productive time? Here is how to get started, the investment is less than $16!
1. Yarn and needles. Pick three skeins of this yarn, one skein in one color (for practicing), and two skeins in another color (for your first scarf project).
Then get a pair of these needles, size US 10.5, 10″ long.
2. Learn the basics. These videos will walk you through it. First you want to learn the slip knot, then casting-on. Then you can practice the knit stitch for a few rows, then the purl stitch. To close up the loops and finish, we bind-off.
3. Start your first project. When you’re feel like you can work the basics, you can move on to knitting a scarf. This scarf pattern is a free download and includes a video tutorial.
After you’ve worked your first project, you’re ready to knit another scarf, or maybe move on to a hat…then socks, sweaters – so much to explore!
This is so nice and generous of you, Staci. I will share this will all my non-knitter friends. We were just getting ready to have a learn to knit get-together so this is very timely. Thank you!
Thank you so very much ??
