Winter Chill Shawl Tutorial

New free pattern and video tutorial! Pattern includes both written and charted instructions. You can download the PDF HERE, or read below on how to get the free pattern in knitCompanion.

This pattern is available as a free PDF download and as a free pattern in knitCompanion. To get the pattern in knitCompanion (iOS and MacOS), open the app and look for the little shirt icon on the right side of the screen that says “Designs”, and search for “Winter Chill”. When you use the pattern in knitCompanion, the pattern is set up with all of the premium kC features. 🙂

Further instructions for adding Winter Chill kCDesign to your knitCompanion/Create2Thrive Stash:
1. Goto Create2Thrive.com
2. Add Winter Chill to your cart (https://www.create2thrive.com/shop/product/winter-chill/)
3. Checkout (this is free, the checkout step will add the Winter Chill kCDesign to your stash)
4. In knitCompanion Tap Designs on the right side and Create2Thrive at the top. Login to your Create2Thrive account if needed to access your stash and download kCDesigns into kC.
5. Tap Local/iCloud at the top, tap the kCDesign, and tap KnitNow to generate your fully setup custom project.
A short tutorial on this process can be found here.

One note – when you purchase a pattern in kCDesigns, it is linked to your Ravelry library and automatically added there. Because this is a free pattern, it won’t automatically link to your Ravelry library – you’ll need to add it manually in Ravelry.

We have an audio podcast! VeryPink Knits, Knitting Q&A is available in your favorite podcast app, or here on my website.

  1. I have a question.
When you used this yarn, did you need to stop at the end of a color or by chance, did the colors end where you wanted?
I wondered because you did not mention weaving in ends

    • I just let the colors happen – the color changes are all gradual, so it ends up looking good! The color changes don’t all happen at the end of a section.

  2. Thank you for gifting this lovely shawl pattern! It will be so relaxing and fun to knit! Have a Merry Christmas and just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed your tutorials. I’ve learned so much from them.

  3. We thank you Staci for all those amazing free tutorials. You have doubled the fun in Knitting for me since I found out about your videos many years ago. Also this period became more tolerable with the knitting, your videos and your Podcast.
Thanks again and please, please continue what you do.
