Eyelet Baby Blanket

A soft, washable, light baby blanket in an eyelet pattern that keeps it interesting for the knitter. Pattern includes links to four instructional videos.

Size: 38” x 38” square
Needles: Size US 8 32” circular, and size US 8 needles set of 5 double-pointed
Yarn: Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in Honeydew, 7 skeins
Additional Materials: 4 stitch markers, tapestry needle, row counter
Gauge: about 5 stitches per inch in Stockinette Stitch, but this is not especially important in this pattern. Just be sure you are creating a fabric you like, that is neither too loose and open with all of the eyelets, nor so tight that you can barely see the eyelets.

Sleep Sack

Knit in a soft baby yarn, the Sleep Sack has precious details like a Peter Pan collar, three button detail, and keyhole hook & eye closure at the back of the neck. The wide open bottom allows for easy diaper changes and plenty of baby kicks, while still keeping baby’s legs warm. In two sizes – 0-3 months and 6 months, the pattern includes links to a five-part video tutorial.

Finished chest measurements: 18” (19”)
Needles: Size US 7 16” or 24” circular needle and US 7 set of double-pointed needles (Note: 16” needles are necessary for smallest size.)

Ida Neck Wrap

My great-great aunt Ida used to knit up something to this for me and my sisters when we were kids. She was on to something – a little wool around your neck makes a huge difference in how warm you feel throughout the day. Cute, quick knit in bulky yarn with size 13 needles. Can be knit up in an afternoon, and will be keeping your neck warm by evening!

Even though this is is a quick-knit, there are a few tricky techniques that are clearly explained in the video tutorial.

Materials Needed:
• 70 yards of bulky yarn; or 100 yards of worsted, held double stranded
• Size 13 needles
• Tapestry needle

Tubular Cast-On

Instructions for working the Tubular Cast-On (demonstrated in the video above):

Using scrap yarn and the Backwards Loop Cast-On, cast-on half the number of total stitches you want. Break yarn.
Using your main yarn:
Row 1: *K1, YO*, repeat between *s across all stitches. (If you have an odd number of stitches, end with K1.)
Row 2: *with yarn in front, slip 1 purlwise; K1*, repeat between *s across all stitches.
Row 3: *K1; with yarn in front, slip 1 purlwise*, repeat between *s across all stitches.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 once more.
Pick out scrap yarn.
