Re: the first question – I actually had a ball of commercial yarn that had a knot that was joining two ends. Like they were making the yarn, and there was a break, so they tied the two ends together. Then there were a bunch of broken plies. So yeah, never again.
I bought a magnet easle from Knit Picks and now my patterns are held at eye level on a table or side table. This keeps my head and eyes straight ahead instead of always looking down. This has sure helped with neck and shoulder pain. Also the long magnets keep me on the proper row. Love your tutorials and podcasts. I learn so much.
