Hi Staci and Casey, I just wanted to mention something I recently discovered. SOME designers who are writing books are including a free coupon code for Ravelry to get all of the patterns from the paper book. Nancy Marchant’s book Leafy Brioche (I know you’re not a fan but these are really fun and not that difficult) was the first book that I noticed it. It was printed in the paper book, I think on the page with the publication information. THAT way you have the book AND printable patterns stored in your Ravelry library. And if you like working with charts as much as I do, you know how great it is to be able to print out a chart rather than have to photocopy or scan it or use it from the book that keeps closing on you. Anyway, I hope more people are doing this! I love knitting magazines, but I pretty much hate following instructions from them simply because of how they are formatted. Printing an individual pattern, IMO, is so much easier.
Regarding being stiff and sore from long periods of knitting. My physical therapist has me getting up and moving for 10 to 15 minutes every hour. This has worked well for me.
