Podcast Episode 271 – Knitting with Black Yarn

Hello, knitters! I’m releasing the podcast one day early this week, because it’s likely I won’t have stable internet access tomorrow. My internet provider is upgrading the system in my neighborhood, and I’ve been getting warnings all day that I should expect outages tomorrow. So here you go, one day early!

  1. I recently was at a yarn shop that had chiao goo needles with the clear nylon cables like addi needles.

  2. A helpful hint for knitting with dark yarns is to put a light colored fabric (towel is one idea) on our lap. This light background helps me. I also do this with fuzzy yarns to keep all the ‘lint’ off my clothing.

Thank you for the great podcasts and videos!!

  3. Hi,

You mentioned that you get yarn online. Didn’t get the name. It was something like webs or yarns.com. Can you tell me what the site was. Thanks.

  4. I love my chiagoo needles and have had no issues with the cords but I have had issues with the metal part. I hang them on a needle holder called The Circular Solution and two of my needles have bent not through usage but just hanging on the needle holder. It’s very strange

  5. You mentioned an alpaca hat that you knit years ago that doesn’t mess up your hair. I’d love to know what pattern that is! I don’t wear a lot of hats because when I take them off, my thin fine baby hair is either flat or flying around full of static. That hat you talked about sounds like a winner. Thanks!!
